In 2008, I went to England for a holiday – just in time for the London Olympics. While in the country, I travelled up north to meet up with an old friend who lives there. We toured around Northumbria for a few days, stopping now and then at the side of the road to capture the occasional landscape picture. Above is one such picture of the English countryside.
It had been raining heavily the night before so the sky is moisture laden with strong clouds and mottled patches of sunlight poking through. Now and then, a shaft of light would pick out some interesting composition. Here a hayfield in late summer has taken a dry yellow colour. A few trees mark the field edges.
